Araucaria araucana 'Platifolia'
II. Shorter than species typical. Growth Size: Dwarf (1-6 inches (8-15 cm) per year, 3-6 feet (90 cm-1.8 m) at 10 years). ns: the spelling 'Platifolia' is preferred here rather than the incorrect 'Platyfolia' seen in Krussman.
Araucaria araucana 'Robusta Gheri'
This is the most beautiful variety of Araucaria of our own selection being extremely cold-re sistant survived in our nursery during the cold winter of 1985 at a temperature of -22° C. Specimens of this variety have been planted in very cold regions of Europe such as France, Germany and Austria have showed great adaptability to cold temperatures in these regions surviving better than the common Araucaria. This variety has an elegant shape; comparing plants of the same size, Araucaria" Robusta Gheri" has a bigger trunk with lighter green foliage than other varieties.
